Launching a business can be a challenging journey filled with long days and sleepless nights. I’ve been there. Multiple times now with multiple businesses.
Since I know how real the struggle can be I’m here to share another angle on my story... It’s how we went from, “getting by” to “crushing it”!
The bottom line… having faith, creating a system, and dialing in the offer were our keys to unlocking the machinery that created $10.12 million in sales.
Here’s the 3 biggest takeaways from the journey.
#1 Gotta Have Faith
Nothing worth doing is going to be easy
Taking the risk and doing something with unknowns can be so worth it
Without faith - we would have never made it through the lulls
Seriously though, building an 8 figure business is not a straight line. You have to start with faith, keep your faith, constantly renew your faith, and for heaven’s sake don’t lose faith.
This one is easy for me. I am a believer. I always come back to the fact that God is laying the path before me, right as I take the next step.
Regardless of your beliefs, having something greater than yourself to come back to when the road gets rocky - is so big to your long term success.
Do things in your life and in your business to cultivate faith.
#2 Systematize Your Sales
Systems are how you scale
Building a strong foundation that you know works can help save you massive amounts of time and stress in the long run
Without a solid sales process we would have never surpassed $10k months
Dialing in the system for selling our coaching and sales fulfillment services was key. Once we had a system in place, tested it for a month, and applied ways to make it even more bulletproof - it was time to scale.
The most important thing about systematizing your sales process is knowing your numbers. When we dialed in the system of paid traffic to calls booked to sales converted. It turned the idea of scaling into a math problem. We knew exactly how much we’d have to invest to get to our sales goal. We knew exactly how many more sales pros we would need to add to our team.
Do things with a system so you can take the emotion out, step back, and treat your scaling like more of an equation than a variable emotional soup that you stir around.
#3 Over-Promise AND Over-Deliver
To increase margins and retention, Speaker A decided to increase the price of their service.
They transformed the offer into a weekly membership, improving retention rates and making it more appealing to potential clients.
We got to a crossroads, where we knew we wanted to scale and we knew the service we were providing was good enough. But, we also knew that if we wanted to create better margin and better retention we had to raise the price of what we were selling.
To do this, we decided to raise our price and bolster our offer, while keeping the highest quality of service intact. This, at the end of the day, would make our service even more attractable.
We looked at what our current clients needed.
Examples: Spreadsheets, Daily Trackers, Guides, Calendars, etc.
We added all of those needs into the offer.
We also recognized that the current model was not infinitely scalable. So, we made it infinitely scalable by introducing a group coaching call, creating a recurring membership program, and developing a community for all clients to thrive.
This turned out to be the ultimate linchpin. Our retention skyrocketed, and even though we raised our prices, the perceived value was so high - we dominated.
Tweak and refine your offer until you find the right one that truly resonates with your people. Then, make sure it’s as scalable as you need it to be without taking away your freedom.
The journey from struggling to scaling is possible for you too. By having faith, building a system, and over-promising AND over-delivering - you can unlock the freedom from scaling, too - without overextending yourself!
