These three success hacks are really what I point to as the core of growing two hugely successful businesses.
These are three timeless tips that you can come back to and call on at any point in your entrepreneurial journey.
They are simple, short, and pack the necessary impact to make anything into a winning business.
The next time you feel stuck - come back to these three things.
#1 Don't Reinvent the Wheel
Pay close attention to the things that work for yourself and your competitors.
If you can see what is working in the current landscape of your niche - there is no reason to reinvent the wheel.
You will likely have to pivot and evolve as time goes on. But, seize any opportunities you have to do more of what you know works.
Example: We know 1:1 selling works. It has for thousands of year. When we leaned into this to dial in our sales process - we got momentum that we could ride for months. With that momentum came knowledge. We learned exactly what our core client needed and how they wanted it delivered. Doing the tried and true allowed us to get to our next step on the game-board, while building out a new sales highway that could scale. But, don’t be fooled - if we wouldn’t have stuck to what we knew worked in the beginning we’d never been able to grow to where we are today.
#2 Always Be Iterating With Persistence
Always think of your journey as a marathon - not a sprint. Success isn't usually a rocket launch; it's a continuous journey of exploration and refinement.
Take on the role as CEO of scientist. You should be constantly doing experiments to find the path of least resistance to your growth.
Example: We knew there was a way to give people the help they needed in growing their businesses without absolutely draining our own time and resources. But, we didn’t figure this out right away. It took tons of tweaking, experimentation, and iterating. Until, eventually we figured out the optimal, cost effective way to deliver everything our clients needed to solve their issues in a package that they could not refuse. If you know there is a way to build something that is profitable, powerful, and efficient - trust your instincts and keep iterating until you’ve got it!
#3 Quitters Never Win And Winners Never Quit
There is no one-size-fits-all solution to anything.
I know all too well how frustrating the entrepreneurial journey can feel at times. It’s a downright rollercoaster.
But, here’s what I know from experience…
You can conquer any challenge. It just takes some grit and unwillingness to settle or quit.
Example: Things are rarely going to go exactly according to plan. In my coaching business, I started out thinking we’d just provide 1:1 coaching to agency owners to help them grow. But, I started to get super burned out doing this. I briefly considered giving up. Shutting it down and moving on. But, if I had done that - rather than redesigning the offer to serve more people and myself better - I would have never uncovered the insane success that was waiting. Point is, you would be doing yourself and the people you serve a disservice if you give up. The biggest breakthroughs are almost always right on the other side of your biggest hurdles or lowest lows. Keep grinding.
There is nothing more satisfying than the feeling of building something despite challenges and obstacles… i.e overcoming. Keep in mind when the road gets hard that you learn the most when your resolve is tested and you feel the best when you rise to the occasion.
